Title: An Introduction to Computational Group Theory
Abstract: In this talk I will provide a basic introduction to the field of computational group theory. We will start by defining what a group is and providing some basic examples. Following that we will discuss some of the main problems computational group theorists study. Finally, we will discuss applications of group theory in cryptography and if time permits my own research.
