- Eric's
treasure trove of mathematics contains short articles on zillions of
things. If you want to know something about anything mathematical, this is
a good place to look. There is also Eric's treasure trove of
scientific biographies, which contains biographical information on many
mathematicians. Eric has treasure troves for several sciences; links can
be found on the page referenced here.
- Gateway to
Mathematics, a collection of short articles designed to provide an
introduction to the areas of modern mathematics, and answers to some common
(or not!) questions.
- Knot A
Braid of Links, your rough guide to mathematics on the web.
- The Mathematics Online
Bookshelf, wherein you will find information on mathematics books at
all levels, from undergraduate college through research level, from the
most important publishers in the field.
- Oregon State University's Web
Based Study Guides includes reviews on algebra, differentiation, and integration
as well as study guides for sequences and series, vector calculus, and
ordinary differential
equations. There are also calculator tutorials for the TI-85
and HP 38G.
- Hilbert's 23
problems: this site contains the text of David Hilbert's 1900 address
to the International Congress of Mathematicians, in which he listed 23
problems. This list has shaped the course of mathematical research ever
since.
- Mitre Corporation's web page on the Y2K problem.
- Mathematical
quotation server: A collection of mathematical quotations culled from
many sources. You may conduct a keyword search through the quotation
database, download the whole collection at once (there are about 83 printed
pages), or browse the quotations page by page. The quotations are organized
in alphabetical order by the author's last name.
- List of plane
curves with illustrations. Includes formulas, properties, and history
of many special curves, including: Archimedean Spiral, Cassinian Oval,
Conic Sections, Lemniscate of Bernoulli, Limacon of Pascal, Quadratrix of
Hippias, Trisectrix of Maclaurin, Witch of Agnesi, and more! This page is

- Play topology games - six
games (tic-tac-toe, chess, and others) played on a torus, Klein bottle, or
other surface. Construct your own surface to play on!
